History Fair Summer Scholars

Chicago History Museum

  • The Chicago Metro History Fair is a project-based program that challenges students to become historians by doing history. Students choose their own topics connected to Chicago, and then conduct research, analyze sources, make an argument, and finally produce a project to show their work. Students projects are evaluated by community volunteers at annual competitions in the Chicago metro area during the spring. History Fair Summer Scholars is a seven-week intensive program, in which students will spend their time making a History Fair project. This program also provides an opportunity to meet historians and other professionals and visit history-connected sites. At the end of the summer each student will have a project ready or almost ready for competition.
