Argonne's Big Data Visualization Camp

Argonne National Laboratory

The world around us is quickly becoming a digital one, expressed in enormous amounts of information or "big data." While still a mystery to many of us, big data is a powerful new tool that gives us insight into the hidden patterns of our world. Surprisingly, leveraging big data requires some fundamental skills that are within reach for high school students. This summer, Argonne will be hosting a 3-day camp for rising high school seniors and recent high school graduates that will allow them to work alongside Argonne scientists exploring big data from the Array of Things urban sensor project. Along the way, students will be able to visualize the city of Chicago in ways that are only limited by their curiosity and imagination.
