The Saturday STEAM Academy in the Fall of 2016 will focus on Environmental Academic Research through the use of Underwater Robotics. Eligible students will engage in hands-on project-based activities that are career-oriented every Saturday at Northeastern Illinois University. Students will learn about math and science concepts that relate to the design of underwater robots. The design of the ROV's will promote student's understanding and application of the Engineering Design Model. During the course of the 10 weeks, Saturday STEAM Robotics Academy students will build their own ROV using SeaPerch and SeaMate technology, develop a research project that focuses on the Environment and that utilizes the ROV for data collection, Present finding at our Saturday STEAM Robotics Academy Fall 2016 Symposium and participate in our Underwater Robotics Competition.

  • Artist Statement

No matter what direction you go with your work, you need to be able to speak about it and explain it, which is never easy. But most college applications require an “artist statement”, as do many scholarships and opportunities to exhibit. A statement should explain why you make your work, what processes it uses, what you intend to communicate, and how you look to grow.
